**Centre for Future Materials**

Centre for Future Materials is known for pioneering research and development in engineered fibre composites, prioritising industry lead R&D in advanced composite manufacturing, civil composites, smart materials, and geopolymer & concrete. It operates a dedicated industry test service for more than 1000 clients across multiple sectors both nationally and internationally.

Australia's Food and Beverage Accelerator (FaBA) is a $160 million initiative to boost growth and innovation in the food and beverage manufacturing sector. Part of the Federal Governments Trailblazer Program, FaBA leverages $50m of government investment with more than $110m from universities and industry. Partners work across four areas: the research programs Innovative Ingredients and Premium Food and Beverage Products, and the enabling programs Innovation Pathways and the FaBA Training Centre.

A national initiative, FaBA provides F&B manufacturers access to research teams, next generation industry professionals, state-of-the-art equipment and pilot facilities. FaBA is proudly hosted by The University of Queensland, in collaboration with participants QUT, UniSQ and UniQuest.

**What youll do**

This role involves working in a research and development environment supporting both industry-led and translational research in Australias Food and Beverage Accelerator. In doing so, you will:

- Conduct advanced research in food and beverage manufacturing, with a focus on innovative ingredients and premium products;
- Collaborate with industry partners to drive translational research and development;
- Utilise state-of-the-art equipment and pilot facilities to execute research projects;
- Mentor and support research students within the FaBA Training Centre;
- Disseminate research findings through high-impact publications and presentations;
- Contribute to the development of industry-relevant solutions and innovations.

**What will help you succeed**

Your energy and initiative, combined with your ability to work independently and collaboratively with fellow researchers and external partners will be vital to your success. Additionally, you will have:

- Doctoral or Master’s Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Food/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field;
- Demonstrated experience in food analysis, rheology, and production/processing;
- Strong track record of research excellence and high-quality publications;
- Excellent technical skills and proficiency in using advanced research equipment;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with industry partners and research teams.
