We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead an evaluation of a ground-breaking project focused on Veterans' transition from Defence to the Cyber Security Industry.

This evaluation project, in collaboration with DXC Technology and UniSQ, aims to evaluate the crucial issues faced by Veterans during their transition to civilian life, particularly in the context of the burgeoning cyber security sector.

The evaluation project also investigates the challenges experienced by spouses when deployment disrupts their professional development.


To be considered for this role, you must have graduated within the last five years, and been awarded a doctoral qualification from UniSQ.

The position will be based at either our Toowoomba or Springfield campus.


Consideration will be given for 10 months' full-time (37.5 hours per week), 12 months' 0.8FTE (30 hours per week), or 18 months' 0.5FTE hours per week) appointments to give your flexible work/life balance and opportunities.


What you'll do:

  • Lead the evaluation of the Veterans' transition from Defence to the Cyber Security Industry pilot program.
  • Investigate important issues surrounding Veterans' transitions and challenges faced by spouses during deployment.
  • Produce highquality research outputs aligned with national priority areas and University research strengths.
  • Engage in externally funded research projects and secure additional funding where necessary.
  • Participate in impactful engagement and service activities to promote the project's findings and foster collaboration.

What you need:

  • PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Social Science), or any other discipline with evaluation experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and lead projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Track record of scholarly and/or professional activities relevant to the discipline.

Salary:

Total remuneration range (based on full-time appointment) - $88,917 to $119,286 pa (includes salary range of $75,130 to $100,791 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading).


For fractional appointments:
Hourly rates of $38.53 to $51.68 per hour plus superannuation contributions of 17% and annual leave loading.
