- Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8, commencing at $106,025 plus superannuation and leave loading, pro rata 3 days per week

SafeWork NSW is the state’s work, health and safety regulator. We work with the NSW community to reduce work related fatalities, serious injuries and illnesses and make it easier to do business safely. We focus on preventing harm and improving the health and safety landscape in NSW workplaces.

**About the Branch**:
**Our Branch tackles complex challenges facing all workers and businesses across NSW and nationally, such as**:

- New ways of working such as the Gig Economy, including in-home care services and delivery services.
- Key safety issues across a board range of industries from building and construction, agriculture to the health care sector. Including reducing the incidence of worker exposure to dangerous substances in the workplace, falls from heights and also aggression in the workplace.
- Issues faced by vulnerable workers and protecting this cohort.
- Psychological injury at workplaces, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.

**About the Role - Policy Officer**:
The role of Policy Officer sits within the Work Health and Safety Policy team, Policy and Strategy branch of the Better Regulation Division.

**Let’s talk about you To be considered for this role, we are looking for**:

- Strong research, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- An ability and/or experience in writing briefing notes, discussion papers and having input into the development of submissions to the Minister and Cabinet
- A collaborative nature and enjoys working in a team
- Previous experience in a legal environment will be highly considered

**So what’s next?**

Salary Clerk Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $106,025 base plus superannuation
