**About the Role**:
The Principal Policy Adviser is responsible to the Chief Operating Officer for leading and ensuring the development, implementation, and evaluation of critical agency policy, as well as providing expert analysis and advice in a range of areas, which guides and supports the achievement of the department’s strategic organisational goals.

Developing and maintaining high level and professional relationships with stakeholders and providing a range of expert policy related advice and consultancy to customers across the department.

The position works within an area that is responsible for a number of critical functions throughout the agency, by means of leadership and commitment to organisational and Government policy and directions.

The environment can at times be politically sensitive and as such requires extremely high levels of confidentiality.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**: Relevant Tertiary qualification or substantial work experience in finance, commerce, economic and other public policy advising and/or development.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
**ASO8 $117,554 - $121,992 per annum.**
