As Operations Lead (Sydney), you are responsible for keeping our current and prospective partners (workplaces and cafes) inspired and caffeinated.

You'll be wearing a Kua tee for three days, and a Commonfolk tee for the rest of the week.
- Driving a van full of coffee (and waste coffee, for local farmers to compost) to partners across Sydney.
- Working with our sales team to invite new folks to the party and expand Kua and Commonfolk’s impact.
- Soliciting and sharing customer feedback, while championing Climate Positive Coffee.

About Kua and Commonfolk

Commonfolk is a coffee roaster. We create spaces for people to eat, drink, caffeinate and be merry. Naturally, we are obsessed with coffeebut we also really care about community-building. That’s why - late last year - we brought Kua into our family. Kua is a social enterprise (meaning a business that runs for a primarily social purpose) that supplies Climate Positive Coffee to workplaces across Sydney.

Together, we do things a little differently:

- All our coffee is ethically sourced with a priority on building relationships with smallholder growers.
- Waste is minimised via circular or compostable packaging and collection of spent coffee grounds.
- Carbon emissions are measured, reduced and offset every year, at 200%.
- $1 from every kilogram of coffee sold is re-invested in communities where the coffee is grown.

About the Role

As Operations Lead (Sydney), you are responsible for keeping our current and prospective partners (workplaces and cafes) inspired and caffeinated. You’ll be wearing a Kua tee for three days, and a Commonfolk tee for the rest of the week.

This looks like:

- Driving a van full of coffee (and waste coffee, for local farmers to compost) to partners across Sydney.
- Overseeing warehouse operations, including order fulfilment, equipment cleaning and reporting on stock.
- Working with our sales team to invite new folks to the party and expand Kua and Commonfolk’s impact.
- Soliciting and sharing customer feedback, while championing Climate Positive Coffee.

About You

You’ll need a driver’s licence and solid driving record, experience as a barista (with an understanding of commercial espresso equipment) and a passion for quality coffee.

Here are few goal-kicking attributes:

- Your local barista describes you as ‘super friendly’ to their colleagues (you’re chatty and personable).
- You’re a fan of a neatly organised kitchen cutlery draw (you’re detail-oriented).
- When weekend plans go off-script, you see it as an adventure (you embrace ‘startup life’ / self-management).
- You’re known to be a good listener (you can solicit early and open feedback from workplace partners).
