As a Environmental Risk Assessor, you will be part of a group of multi-skilled professionals, conduct fieldwork across Melbourne and be involved in supporting human health and ecological risk assessments (HHERA) in client projects, including environmental investigations, assessments and remediation of contaminated sites driven by risk to human health and environment.

You will be based in our **Melbourne CBD office** with the option to **work from home up to 2 days per week**.

**What you’ll do**
- Assist with the collection of data that supports contaminated site investigations, chemical assessments, human health and ecological risk assessments
- Conduct literature searches, and reviews and interpretation of scientific information (e.g., biology, chemistry, toxicology and ecotoxicology studies)
- Manage and evaluate chemical and biological datasets, generate statistical metrics, and run simple models
- Manage the preparation and presentation of data outputs (such as graphs, pie charts, box plots)
- Undertake quality assurance and validation data checking
- Contribute to the preparation of human health and ecological risk assessment reports
- Support the preparation of proposals that relate to risk assessment and/or contaminated site investigations

**About you**

You’re enthusiastic, reliable, great at building collaborative working relationships, and you’re keen to take the next step up in your career.

You’re likely to have a background in Environmental or Biological Sciences and 2-7 years of environmental (consulting) experience.

We typically look for people with experience/knowledge in:

- Relevant guidelines, procedures, and environmental regulations for risk assessment in Australia
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
- Experience with data management systems and statistical software will be an asset (e.g. ESDAT)
- Experience in use of modelling tools to estimate chemical and biological effects and/or contaminant migration
- Python, R, statistics or similar
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills
