**The Role**

The Head of Sales works within the Executive Team, reporting to the Managing Director and is responsible for leading sales growth via a strategic network of local and international trade partnerships. A strong focus will be on proactively identifying and proactively creating new opportunities, developing, and managing key partnerships. The Head of Sales will also be responsible for leading, nurturing and supporting a sales team to maximise all sales opportunities, to achieve and exceed budgeted sales targets and profitability, and develop the team to their full potential.

Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.

key responsibilities:

- Provide strategic support to the Executive Team to develop and execute the overarching strategic business plan, particularly focused on trade partnerships locally & internationally
- Drive the development, execution and review of sales & trade marketing strategies and sales policies and processes
- Develop, manage, and execute a sales business plan for Adventure World & GSA brands and assist the sales team with the development and execution of their key partner business plans to ensure sales objectives are achieved and aligned with organisational objectives
- Provide strategic direction to the Executive team on commercial agreements, commission structures, industry discounts, famil and incentive opportunities, return on investment co-operative sales and marketing opportunities, tactical offers, and conduct reviews as necessary
- Recommend, set & review annual sales targets for all three brands and re-forecast when necessary to achieve overall sales objectives
- Build, manage, lead, develop and motivate a sales team and develop annual performance management and development plans aligned with organisational objectives
- Ensure the Adventure World global sales team is informed of all sales & marketing initiatives, and provide support & training where required
- Manage the overall sales budget within budget guidelines, prepare forecasts and reports including analysis and provide recommendations to the Executive Team as required
- Nurture and actively manage existing high-level partnerships for AW and GSA brands across all distribution channels and conduct quarterly reviews and forward planning to drive sales and ROI
- Proactively identify and establish new strategic partnerships within local and international markets, and sales and marketing opportunities
- Actively seek and convert group and charter business

**Travel requirements**:
Interstate and overseas travel as required.

**About you**
- Tertiary qualifications in Travel/Tourism or Sales & Marketing (desirable)
- 5+ years’ experience with local and international travel sales or marketing and business development, trade partnership management or similar
- 3+ years’ experience in team leadership/management and recruitment
- Proven track record in meeting & exceeding sales targets and managing a sales budget
- Knowledge of Adventure World & GSA brands core operating destinations (and product)
- Understanding of the travel industry and its distribution landscape
- Essential - Full Drivers licence
- Desirable - Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM
- Previous knowledge and experience selling luxury travel, with innovative ideas on persuasive relationship building and sales development techniques whilst maintaining core business values & objectives
- Ability to develop detailed sales and marketing plans aligned with organisational goals
- Proficient with data analysis to make informed business decisions
