As the steward of the early childhood development system, the Office will act on government's behalf, and work in collaboration with the sector, to organise and connect the system to reduce developmental vulnerability.

This includes strategy for the provision of quality preschool for all three and four-year-olds, supporting for families in the first 1000 days of a child’s life and implementing a workforce strategy.

**About the Role**:
As the Executive Support Officer, you will provide diary and inbox management, general administration and coordination support to the Executive Director and Director for a critical function within our newly developed Office for Early Childhood Development (OECD).

In this role, you will utilise your exceptional organisational skills, dynamic and adaptable working style, and critical thinking to coordinate, execute, and support the directorate with important administrative and coordination tasks. Ideally, you will have proven government knowledge/experience to support the coordination of critical briefings, papers, policies, and other documentation for distribution to key internal and external stakeholders, including the OECD Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team, the Minister for Education, and significant entities and organisations within the Early Childhood Education and Care sector.

You will have strong communication skills and an ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in all that you do, whilst possessing the skill of pursuasion and influence to achieve timely and successful outcomes for the directorate.

The Executive Support Officer also provides a courteous, professional and responsive central point of contact for the Executive Directors, members of the Executive Leadership Management Team and divisional senior managers.

**Capabilities and Experience you will bring**:

- Proven experience in Executive diary and inbox management and coordination, including liaison with external stakeholders for event, accommodation, and travel schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships internally and externally with a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
- Strong understanding of minute taking, bona fide reporting, briefings, policies, papers, and other critical documentation coordination.
- Critical thinking skills with a strong nous for initiative and autonomous problem solving to support effortless and seamless support for executives.
- Experience in preparing conferences, meetings, and events including travel arrangements, presentations, staff attendance and other supportive documentation and coordination.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
ASO4 $75,430 - $79,070 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation
