**The Chief Financial Officer Group**
The CFO Group's core objective is to advance University strategy through financial leadership and innovation, strategic sourcing and contracting. The Corporate Finance Property & Sustainability Team (CFPS) is part of the CFO Group and includes responsibility for design and implementation of the University’s Estate Plan as well as the development function of the University’s major strategic property initiatives, aligned with the Development Framework. The team is focused on ensuring that the University’s property assets (current and future) meet the long and short-term business needs of the University, supporting the core objectives of research, teaching and learning and student experience, and industry and community engagement. The CFPS team is responsible for ensuring that the University’s property, infrastructure, and financial assets/liabilities enable strategy and provide a meaningful competitive advantage.
**The Role - Development Manager**
Within CFPS, the Development team includes a range of specialist areas that are concerned with both highly strategic issues, technical due diligence as well as operational aspects of land, property and real estate use and development. As the Development Manager, you will be a key member of the Development team and will be responsible for the development of major strategic programs and projects led by the CFPS team.
Reporting to a Senior Development Manager and the Portfolio Director, this newly created position is commercially driven and will have a strong focus on new business opportunities across the Universities existing property interests as well as new acquisitions and joint venture partnerships with external parties. This role is responsible for identifying and driving strategic development opportunities and will focus on the origination phase of the development lifecycle covering strategy, feasibility analysis, business case development and reporting.
**About You**
Your highly-developed stakeholder engagement and leadership skills enable you to manage strategic relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and motivate and lead a small team. You have excellent commercial acumen and with ability to develop and operationalise strategy.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Property or a related field
- Proven experience in development management to deliver complex commercial development projects.
- Commercially astute with demonstrated experience in development feasibility, financial modelling and business case development.
- Collaborative approach and ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
- High level of emotional intelligence with the ability to engage and influence outcomes in a complex environment.
- Proven track record in a new business role will be highly regarded
