**About QIMR Berghofer**:
QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Mental Health and Neuroscience, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.

**About Corporate Affairs and Fundraising**:
The Corporate Affairs and Fundraising (CAF) team is responsible for positioning, promoting and protecting QIMR Berghofer, as well as raising vital funding through philanthropic endeavours, corporate partnerships and community engagement to support the remarkable life-saving work of the Institute’s researchers. The CAF team is focused on delivering high quality media, marketing, government relations, community engagement, communications, events, fundraising and philanthropy activities, aligned to the Institute’s strategic objectives.

**Role Purpose / Responsibilities**:

- Manage the administrative functions for the General Manager; including budget administration duties, booking meetings, strategy sessions, taking phone calls and sending correspondence.
- Manage in-person, telephone enquiries and the Institute’s Enquiries Mailbox from the public with friendliness, tact, initiative, empathy and discretion.
- Provide administrative support to the General Manager and other managers in CAF; including monthly reports, annual reports, and external briefing documents.
- Manage inbound and outbound correspondence for the department; including performing mail merges and collating materials for mail-outs.
- Administer purchasing and procurement activities for the department; including credit card reconciliations, travel bookings, setting up new suppliers, coordinating standing orders where necessary, and arranging payment approvals via the online procurement system.
- Assist with Institute-wide events, including attending and recording actions at project management meetings, receiving and recording RSVPs, preparing name tags, meeting and greeting guests, and other event-related duties as required; booking resources for meetings including rooms and electronics (e.g. AV equipment).
- Assist with community engagement activities; including hosting tour morning teas and supervising groups.
- Assist with entering prospect, donor and gift information into QIMR Berghofer’s fundraising and database.
- Assist with updating the Institute’s Intranet and Website using content management systems to ensure the platforms are current.

**About you**:You will have;
- Minimum five years’ experience in an administration role
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, including a friendly, outgoing and positive disposition; ability to relate to members of the public, often older people, whose lives have been affected by disease or death of a loved one, with empathy, tact, discretion and resilience
- Technologically proficient, with exposure to or willing to learn, a range of fundraising, marketing and event software packages
- Financial acumen and/or experience with budgets and procurement activities
- Ability to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and target audiences
- Exceptional organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and manage a busy schedule
- High level of initiative, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to operate productively both autonomously and within a professional busy team environment
- Ability to maintain discretion at all times with confidential information.

**Remuneration: This is a full-time, permanent position. **The salary range is $72,114 to $85,503 p.a. plus super and salary packaging. Salary commensurate with skill and experience.
