**About QIMR Berghofer**:
QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Mental Health and Neuroscience, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.

**About The Corporate Affairs and Fundraising Department**:
This position is within the Corporate Affairs and Fundraising Department (CAF), reporting to the Manager, Philanthropy and Fundraising. CAF is responsible for generating fundraising revenue to support QIMR Berghofer’s research programs and protecting and strengthening the Institute’s reputation for research excellence.

**Role Purpose / Responsibilities**:
Applications are invited for a seasoned, experienced professional who will generate the philanthropic giving needed to fund the Institute’s research priorities. This role will see you create philanthropic Cases for Support and plan philanthropic Campaigns for medical research, to attract philanthropic support from high net worth donors.

Your expertise will drive:

- Development of philanthropic Campaigns, Cases for Support and funding proposals for the Institute’s research programs and initiatives, to seek philanthropic support from current major donors and prospective donors.
- Develop and implement comprehensive major gift fundraising strategies for specific research projects as identified. Develop relationships, short and long-term strategies and execute targeted cultivation plans of prospects, including high net worth donor development, annual giving goals and goals for discrete Campaigns.

**About you**:
To be successful for this role, you should hold Tertiary qualifications in Fundraising/Marketing/Business and have 3 years’ minimum experience in a major gifts or capital campaign philanthropy program. You should be a natural relationship builder, able to transform ideas and needs, into a compelling Case for Support.

Your ability to professionally identify, engage and connect with high net worth individuals is a skill you have developed and executed successfully in other roles. Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to create philanthropic Cases for Support and plan philanthropic Campaigns for research, medical, university projects or similar, to generate major donor investment and commitment.

**Remuneration**: Starting salary to be negotiated from is $109,746 p.a. plus super and salary packaging. This is a full-time appointment for 3 years.
