**About the Opportunity**:
Due to innovation and growth in the People & Culture (P&C) Division at the Department of Customer Service, we have an exciting and new opportunity for an Advisor, Privacy to join our high-performing and progressive People Services team

On a day-to-day basis you will work with the Associate Director P&C Policy and Privacy/P&C Privacy Lead to support DCS People and Culture to understand their privacy obligations under the _Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998_ (NSW) and the _Health Records Information Privacy Act 2002_ (NSW). This includes engaging and working with all teams across People and Culture, from human resource business partners to safety advisors to learning specialists. To provide the privacy guidance, you will develop an understanding the systems and processes that are used by P&C where personal information of all departmental staff is collected and stored.

This role will support the enhancement of privacy frameworks, tools, templates, and processes to achieve improved outcomes across People and Culture’s delivery of services to the Department.

**Your day to day**:

- Contribute to or lead Privacy Impact Assessments for new products or projects
- Contribute to or conduct Privacy Internal Reviews
- Provide privacy advice to People & Culture team to inform decision making and mitigate privacy risks
- Build and maintain strong relationships with other teams and areas
- Influence and negotiate for privacy outcomes amongst other competing priorities
- Maintain a focus on finding ways to solve problems - by finding a balance between preserving and ensuring privacy outcomes, and achieving customer and business outcomes
- Coordinate privacy team reporting and scheduling, including broader training and awareness activities, with support from other team members

**About You**:
To be successful in this role you will possess a great blend of skills, including:

- Knowledge and understanding of privacy law, with experience providing privacy advice or performing privacy compliance duties in an Australian organisation under either the Federal privacy jurisdiction or a State (government) jurisdiction.
- A customer centric and growth mindset with strong decision-making skills as well as have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Exceptional relationship management and influencing skills at all levels
- Experience in project delivery to achieve business outcomes
- Experience with continuous improvement activities to delivery business outcomes
