**About the opportunity**

This is your opportunity to be part of a dynamic team charged with developing and leading programs that support new and advanced climate technologies and the sustainable transition of NSW to a net-zero economy. You will help support our industries’ transition to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, develop new low-carbon products for our economy, and manufacture critical plant and equipment to make NSW a climate technology leader.

**About the team**

The **Clean Technology Innovation (CTI) - Strategy** **Team** is seeking an Assistant Project Officer to deliver programs within the Climate Change and Sustainability Division to help our customers and partners in industry and NSW Government agencies sustainably transition to net zero emissions.

By investing in the next wave of innovative, low emissions technologies, we will work with industry to overcome technical and commercial barriers and build capacity across the state. This will position NSW as a leading investment destination and unlock export opportunities in coming decades.

The CTI Strategy Team workstreams include:
Investment: Delivering innovative climate technology Government investment
- The CTI Strategy Team is investigating and implementing innovative investment solutions to attract and scale-up the level of private capital available for climate technologies in NSW.

Strategic Policy: Building the ecosystem to drive climate technology research, development and commercialisation
- The strategy team is designing a program of strategic policy projects to build the NSW climate technology ecosystem and coordinate capacity building across the Net Zero Industry and Innovation Program

Clean technology innovation is one of the 3 focus areas within?Net Zero Industry and Innovation Program. Through this work we support the development and continued innovation of emerging clean technologies to help NSW shift to net zero emissions by 2050.

**About you**

By joining our team, you will bring your drive, energy, passion and support to work on key projects and initiatives that will help develop emerging and new low-carbon and clean technology industries in NSW and accelerate the state transition to net-zero emissions.

In this role:

- You will work in a team to deliver tangible outcomes across a range of climate technology and sustainability areas including net zero emissions, circular economy, sustainable procurement, nature-based solutions, waste, energy, renewables, and carbon
- You will undertake project research, analysis, reporting, implementation, and administrative activities to support the CTI Strategy Team on the development of strategic projects
- You will collaborate with relevant stakeholders across industry, local councils and NSW government agencies across a range of diverse net zero and sustainability agendas
- You will support the delivery of multiple projects with tight deadlines
- You have a fundamental understanding, and are keen to expand your knowledge, of low and zero-carbon technologies needed to transition to net-zero
- You are proactive in pursuing professional development to expand your knowledge, skills, and competencies to support your team
- You are eager, organised, productive, efficient, and effective in delivering your team’s delegated tasks
- You are eager to collaborate and seek advice to help you to deliver agreed outcomes and tasks within budget and on time

**Key knowledge and Experience**
- Knowledge of the NSW Government’s renewable energy and net-zero commitments.
- Understanding of low carbon and clean technology industries needed to transition to the economy to net zero
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills to deliver agreed project outcomes on time, on budget, and to quality standards
- Ability to prioritise competing demands
- Demonstrated experience in interacting with stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills
