**About the team**
The Net Zero Land team sits within the NSW Office of Energy and Climate Change. The team is focused on building a critical mass of carbon abatement projects in the land sector and supporting farmers to take action on climate change. We need your help.

**About the roles**
There are two roles available within the Net Zero Land team. Both roles will be focused on supporting farmers to undertake carbon activities and deliver environmental outcomes alongside production. This will include:
- Delivering outcomes using project management skills
- Collaborating with relevant stakeholders across the primary industry and land sector and the carbon market
- Helping to design and deliver government interventions focused on supporting farmers
- Working in a team to deliver tangible outcomes to drive the transition to net zero.
The two roles have different areas of focus. Any applicant will be considered for both.
- working to build the capacity of farmers to make decisions around carbon abatement, including understanding the multiple benefits from carbon projects and the potential to participate in carbon markets. This will include:
- close collaboration with government agencies and other organisations who are active in this sector to reduce duplication and leverage opportunities
- preparation of farmer-facing communications and learning materials, developing sector and/or region-specific initiatives and events
- co-ordinating an agricultural leaders’ forum aimed at creating systems change through engaging with a targeted group of industry leaders across the supply chain (i.e. producers, retailers, financiers and more). This will include working with the contracted project delivery partner, who will facilitate the forum meetings and events.
- undertake data analysis to help identify and communicate key opportunities for the program to facilitate rapid and large-scale carbon abatement in the NSW agricultural and land sector including:
- collate and review relevant spatial datasets and identify the need for improved or new datasets
- develop new datasets, data visualisations and spatial tools for program decision making
- liaise with data analysts from other programs to coordinate the efficient development of new datasets across key industries, land uses, regions, emissions reduction methods, etc
- assist with grant funding programs and other interventions, including:
- contribute to the design of grant funding rounds to help ensure funding is directed to address priority issues
- work with industry partners to deliver Program outcomes from on-ground carbon projects, such as developing demonstration sites and case studies that highlight cost-benefit analysis and implementation pathways.
