The Strategic Procurement function forms part of the Legal and Compliance team within the Resources Division, which provides a range of professional support services to the Academic Senate, the Counsel, the Vice-Chancellor, senior executives and other officers within the Colleges and Divisions.

Legal and Compliance provides independent and objective advice, and are committed to a policy of timely, cost-effective and professional services. The functions in the team consist of:

- Legal

You will use your strong leadership and influencing skills to drive procurement change initiatives that improve business performance. You will be a trusted advisor to College and Divisional leaders, as the function matures towards embedding a total cost solution model aligned with the University’s _Looking Ahead_ strategic plan.

Key areas of focus include:

- Provide Leadership in the development of procurement and contracting strategies considering project scope and risk;
- In conjunction with key internal stakeholders, develop and implement procurement strategies that deliver innovative and cost-effective outcomes resulting in improved business processes and optimal value for money outcomes;
- Drive supplier and product/service rationalisation through cross-functional reviews; and
- Identify and implement strategies that drive effective service delivery improvements.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

- Experience managing spend categories (>$20M pa); and

- Highly regarded - procurement experience in managing an IT procurement portfolio.
- Experience in managing a medium to large portfolio of spend (annual spend > $20M).
- Extensive knowledge of the procurement lifecycle and procurement best practices.
