**Product Sales Specialist - Protein Analysis**

**Reporting to: Manager, Product Specialists**

**Location: Sydney or Melbourne**

**How will you make an impact?**

You will also be the primary driver of business development at assigned major customer call points to penetrate and grow current and new business. The Sales Specialist will be recognized as a technical leader and business development leader within the sales force that drives strategic objectives and adoption of new products

Key Responsibilities:

- Sell and promote the Protein Analysis portfolio including Western Blot workflow instruments and consumables, Imaging and Mass Spectrometry consumables in a defined territory (Australasia).
- Lead existing accounts and prospecting for new business to contribute to sales growth.
- Meeting and striving to exceed sales targets.
- Providing information to and from the territory, including providing written reports as requested
- Promoting the Employer’s image and product reputation.

**Servicing and Managing the Customer Base**
- Produce Forward Call Cycle/Plan.
- Make regular customer calls either with or without the local Sales person.
- Identify new business opportunities and work with the Technical Sales Manager to develop sales potential.

**Sales Promotion**
- Follow the directive selling program to improve the sales of the targeted products.
- Attend Trade Exhibitions as required to generate leads and prospects for the company’s products.
- Conduct customer specific promotions to encourage sales growth and development of a positive company position.
- Develop and execute technology seminars applicable to the account research focus.

**Product / Market Knowledge**
- Constantly develop product knowledge through company literature and other independent sources of technical information.
- Acquire and report information of market trends, competitive promotions and other activities from the market that may aid the sales and marketing activity.
- Actively take part in internal product training and the external scientific community activities.

**Budgets / Targets**
- Essential to meet Revenue and Gross Profit sales targets as set each year for the defined territory and contribute to the achievement of the region goals.
- Meet sales targets as set for specific promotional activities.

**Administration and Reports**
- Maintain accurate and detailed customer records on the company CRM.
- Provide weekly sale reports to be made to the Technical Sales Manager.
- All other requested reports by due dates.

**Key Account Management**
- Identify Key Accounts in defined territory that will contribute significantly to the sales growth in the territory.
- Work closely with the Technical Sales Manager and Marketing to develop strategies that will develop the sales potential of the Key Accounts.
- Provide reports to the entire sales team on the development of the Key Accounts.

Key Requirements:

- Educated as BSc. Level or above.
- At least two years relevant experience in sales and account relationship management preferred.
- Strong technical expertise in the Protein Analysis products
- Strategic selling and market development ability
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Professional presentation
- Self-management
- Strong time management
- A Master’s degree or PhD in life sciences is highly desirable
- Strategic and tactical market development skills.
- Strong presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to be effective in a globally matrixed organization
- Able to work independently with limited day-to-day management supervision.
- Frequent Travel will be required up to 40%
