ASIS is Australia’s overseas secret intelligence collection agency.

ASIS’s mission is to protect and promote Australia’s vital interests through the provision of

intelligence services as directed by the Australian Government. This includes the collection of

intelligence related to national security, international relations and economic issues. ASIS also

contributes to Australia’s coordinated national efforts against terrorism, proliferation of weapons

of mass destruction, and trans-national issues such as people smuggling. To achieve this mission,

ASIS requires people with a wide range of skills and experience.

ASIS is looking for dynamic, experienced and qualified Executive Assistants (multiple roles) to be a

environment, we rely on Executive Assistants to be flexible and consistent while maintaining

What we offer

We offer a competitive salary package including 22 days annual leave, shutdown between

Christmas and New Years Day, 15.4% employer superannuation contribution, access to flex time

and generous paid parental leave. Full and part time positions as well as flexible work hours can

be negotiated.

All positions are office-based and located in Canberra, with conditions of service similar to those

in the Australian Public Service, including superannuation.

Role: Executive Assistant (L4-5)

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Support ASIS SES Band 1 or SES Band 2 officers to ensure ASIS priority objectives are

completed.

Oversee and coordinate ASIS SES Band 1 or SES Band 2 officers correspondence, calendar

and expenses. Coordinate complex scheduling and calendar management as well as

information flow to senior executives.

Maintain and refine internal processes that support senior executive officers and coordinate

internal and external resources to achieve impact. Manage senior executives’ travel logistics.

Manage communication with the executive, the wider Service, and external Australian

Government departments / agencies and industry partners.

Maintain professionalism, integrity and strict confidentiality with all materials.

Core Skills / Education, qualification and experience requirements

The following will be highly regarded, however on the job training will be provided where

required:
Experience in administrative and executive support roles

Effective organisation and prioritisation skills, strong time management and the ability to

manage and coordinate multiple concurrent projects

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience in developing and maintaining successful client / customer relationships and

maintain relationships at all levels

Ability to anticipate the needs of the senior executive officers

Understanding of the Australian Public Service and the National Intelligence Community

Experience overseeing budgets and expenses
