The Systems Administrator will provide a high level of systems administration and support and will be responsible for leading the design, testing, and implementation of ICT systems including cloud computing, systems software and automation software per industry standards, compatibility, security and sustainability.
The position will also lead project activities including requirements definition, technical analysis and design and transition to operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Managing Database platforms both on-premise and cloud environments (including, SQL, Postgresql. Oracle, Azure SQL database and data services, AWS RDS)
- Work closely with the Business System Analysts to ensure all databases and associated systems are running optimally
- Installing, upgrading & configuring MS SQL server and related tools
- Backup and recovery of databases
- Implement and enforce database security
- Perform monitoring, troubleshooting & ongoing performance tuning of databases
- Development of SQL scripts & stored procedures
- Controlling deployment of database changes & transferring of data between systems
- Automation of administrative tasks
- Resolving incidents to meet SLA objectives
- Supporting project delivery through the design and implementation of new database services
- Setup security, auditing and data encryption as per best practices and security best practices
- Setup, Monitoring and troubleshooting of routine maintenance jobs (Backup/Restore, Indexing, Database Consistency Checks, batch jobs,).
- Development and Implementation of Disaster Recovery plan, processes and procedures.
- Upgrade, Migration, consolidation of Server instances and databases
- Perform data extraction, transformation and loading to same or other databases.
- Extract data, consolidate data and compile reports to support user requirements and other ETL activities.
- Participate in security and vulnerability auditing and reporting
- Development of design specifications for solutions involving clustering, replication, disaster recovery and database migrations, other virtualized and non-virtualized environments
- Recommending and implementing database architecture changes
- Directing the installation of database management systems, database tables and views
- Administration of physical databases, performance tuning and disaster recovery
- Providing technical advice on database issues, and managing the resolution of incidents affecting database performance
- Conducting thorough testing of solution developed
- Producing high quality documentation to cover requirements, design, installation guide or training material as required.
- Performing analysis, system enhancements and administration tasks

**Experience**:

- Minimum 5+ years hands-on database administration experience of Oracle (11g and 12c) and SQL Server 2008 onwards database management
- SQL coding
- Experience with SQL Server versions 2008 R2 / 2012 and above
- Experience in configuration, monitoring and administration with SQL Server
- Performance tuning skills
- DBA certification - SQL Server, Azure related certifications
