**About the Organisation**

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses, and visitors. These programs range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. **About the Role**

Council has over two billion dollars of building assets including town halls, community centres, childcare centres, and others. These assets are maintained through the minor capital works program. This role is to support the implementation of the Minor Capital Works program:

- Ensuring allocated minor capital works projects are delivered within procurement guidelines, on budget and delivered within set timeframes.
- Ensuring that all agreed works to Council buildings are delivered to maintain compliance with all statutory regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
- Monitor and manage minor capital works within annual budgets for all asset renewal programs on Council buildings.
- Procure service, trade, and professional contractors in line with Council’s procurement requirements.

**Duties/Key Responsibilities**:

- Ability to build and foster good working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all works to Council buildings and related services are delivered to provide a safe and acceptable environment for all the building users, in accordance with current safety standards.
- Assist with implementation of capital works programs on Council buildings recognising City of Port Phillip’s Tender and Contract Procurement Guidelines and Council’s statutory obligations.
- Implement works using services contracts and works contracts and reporting to relevant contract managers.
- Update the building components of City of Port Phillip’s Asset Management System and contribute to the development and adoption of new technologies in the team.
- Certify all building works are completed to an appropriate standard including and ensuring all OHS considerations and obligations are carried out by contractors.
- Take part in minor and major tender services evaluation panels.

**Qualifications, Skills, and Experience (Key Selection Criteria)**
- Excellent knowledge and/or experience in delivering works within procurement guidelines.
- Sound knowledge of OHS legislation and the ability to ensure contractor compliance with Council’s OHS systems and procedures.
- Working knowledge of building regulations and other legislative and common law requirements relating to public buildings.
