**About the role**
The position will work across Northern Client Services to enhance VACCA’s response to the Aboriginal community and strengthen the capacity of the agency to develop innovative, culturally responsive programs and policy responses.
The focus of this specialist position will be to mentor and support Northern VACCA managers and staff to integrate culture and healing practices into all aspects of service delivery, and to realise the aims of Cultural Therapeutic Ways.
The position will engage and build connections with the Aboriginal community, in particular Elders and respected persons
**About you**:

- Commitment to VACCA’s vision and purpose.
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people
- Experience in child and family case management and/or expertise providing cultural advice.
- Strong analytical, solution focused approach with high level organisational abilities and interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to support, mentor and develop staff.
- Excellent reporting writing and policy development skills.
- Capacity to work both as a member of a team and independently.
- Computer skills; specifically, in Excel, Access and Adobe InDesign.
