**The Organisation**

Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia, employing more than 600 employees and delivering more than 70 programs across Victoria. VACCA is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal community. Our strength lies with our people. **About the role**

Join a team that is supporting VACCA’s vision of changing how Aboriginal families experience the child protection system by putting it in the hands of Aboriginal organisations and embedding our way of doing things. VACCA is advocating for a system that is built on self-determination, and is focused on building culturally strong, safe and thriving Aboriginal families.

This position will give you the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of innovative projects and programs that aim to reduce the over-representation of Aboriginal children in the child protection system

**About You**
- Experience working in the child and family services and/or ACCO sector (desirable)
- An awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, along with awareness of the key issues that impact upon Aboriginal communities, and commitment to continually build knowledge in this area
- Excellent organisational abilities and time management skills, including an ability to set and work to project deadlines
- Effective and culturally appropriate interpersonal skills, communication skills including the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Aptitude for teamwork and collaboration with people from a variety of professional backgrounds
