Venues Canberra manage GIO Stadium, Manuka Oval and Exhibition Park in Canberra and has a short-term vacancy for an experienced safety and security officer. The position is part of the Safety, Security and Emergency Management team and engages with staff, contractors, stakeholders and emergency services agencies to ensure our venues and patrons remain safe. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary in relation to safety and risk requirements. The position will be required to prepare, implement and maintain safety and security risk assessments, safety and security management plans and emergency management plans. An excellent knowledge of security, risk and intelligence frameworks and the ability to undertake and implement risk and threat assessments will be highly regarded.

**Eligibility/Other Requirements**:
**ESSENTIAL**
- C Class Driver’s License.
- Availability to perform regular after hours, public holidays and weekend work in support of booked events.
- The ability to acquire an ACT Working with Vulnerable Persons check.

**DESIRABLE**
- Possession of or the ability to acquire a first aid certificate
