**About the role**
Intelligence Analysts contribute to the planning, development and production of intelligence outcomes and outputs. The position supports the planning, collection and analysis of ACIC’s bulk data collection and flagship products (Waste Water Program and Illicit Drugs Data Report).

Key responsibilities include:

- Contributing to activities, including with government and private sector organisations, through a mixture of relationship building, negotiation, requests for information, open source research and ACIC coercive powers.
- Ensuring all new data is appropriately collected, cleaned, managed and uploaded on the appropriate location.
- Contributing to intelligence products through research, analysis and drafting.

The position provides direct support to the Assistant Director Data Collections and the Drugs Data Hub. You will also work closely with other intelligence professionals, operational teams and external partner agencies to ensure that intelligence data collection and outputs support the strategic and operational needs of the ACIC Executive, senior decision makers and other ACIC clients.

- Has the aptitude to develop knowledge of data interrogation, research capabilities and threat assessment methodologies, and the ability to undertake analysis.
- Is able to solve complex problems, make assessments and derive unique insights.
- Is curious and inquisitive, with the ability to identify patterns, trends or insights from our data, intelligence operations and investigations.
- Is able to develop and maintain awareness of the serious and organised crime environment to identify priorities, including new and emerging threats and nationally-significant criminal activity.
- Can develop an understanding of relevant statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks for intelligence within a law enforcement environment.
- Is able to develop and maintain productive relationships which promote information sharing and a common understanding.

**Eligibility**
- **Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
- **Security Clearance** - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
- **Vaccination Status** - To be eligible to work at the ACIC, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
