The Decision Maker is required to undertake the role of Right to Information (RTI) and Information Privacy (IP) decision maker.
The role is also responsible for contributing to the identification of business improvements and providing advice to internal and external clients.
**In this role you will**:

- Exercise decision making power under the Right to Information 2009 and Information Privacy Act 2009 and in accordance with administrative release guidelines regarding access and amendment to personal affairs information recorded on departmental documents.
- Contribute to the identification, development and implementation of appropriate right to information and information privacy procedures and practice standards to ensure the ongoing efficient and effective implementation of right to information and information privacy in the Department.
- Contribute to the development of administrative and information systems required to ensure the Department meets the legislative requirements of the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009.
- The ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following experiences, knowledge and skills whilst also demonstrate suitability against the Queensland Public Service Leadership competencies for Queensland (Lead4Qld).

**The essential requirements for this role are**:

- This role requires integrity, discretion and tact in dealing with the sensitive and confidential nature of information within Right to Information and Privacy.
- Good communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills with confidence to liaise with Senior organisation levels and members of the public on all issues including sensitive or complex issues
- Motivated self-starter able to work autonomously and as a member of a team to assist during peak or high demand periods in support provision of a centralised business services model
- Demonstratable organisational and time management experience and ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure
- Demonstratable time management skills to achieve proficiency and effectiveness in managing conflicting / evolving priorities, problem solving, and delivering to deadlines
- Being results oriented - quality, consistency, timelines, continuous improvement, customer service, governance, etc.
- Experience using computer software packages

There are no mandatory qualifications or requirements for this position. However, QCS values the enhanced work performance which may be gained from the expanded knowledge base and skills acquired during formal tertiary training and encourage both existing and potential staff to participate in lifelong learning.
