About us
The Corrections Reform Response team has been established within the Office of the Associate Secretary to ensure a strategic and whole of department response to recommended reforms to the corrections system, including the Cultural Review of the Adult Custodial Corrections System (Cultural Review).

The Corrections Cultural Review Response team supports reform of the custodial correctional system to better support the corrections workforce, improve outcomes for people in custody and keep Victorians safe. This work includes a particular focus on Aboriginal cultural safety and self-determination.
About the role
The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires a capacity to exercise sound judgement, and the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, using influence and negotiation skills to support the provision of clear advice to support effective, timely actions.

**Some of your key duties will include**:

- Lead policy projects and provide high-quality advice and support to the Minister and DJCS Executives on a range of policy proposals arising from the Cultural Review.
- Provide policy, strategy and research support for, and respond to the recommendations of, key governance bodies overseeing the Cultural Review.
- Establish and maintain relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders

About you
- Sound knowledge of and/or experience in Victorian government administrative processes.
- Proven track record in providing public sector policy advice within a complex social policy environment.
- Knowledge of current policy direction, research and issues within corrections and the criminal justice system more broadly, or the ability to understand these issues quickly.
- Strong conceptual, policy and analytical skills with ability to analyse complex operational, policy and legal issues.
