**Why Bupa**
Bupa is an international healthcare group which has been committed to a purpose of longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world for more than 70 years. In Australia and New Zealand, Bupa supports more than 5 million customers through a broad range of health and care services including health insurance, aged care, rehabilitation, dental, optical, medical, hearing and medical visa services.
**Join Us as a Product Manager and Drive Customer-Centricity**
In this pivotal role, you’ll act as the essential link between our customers, business objectives, and delivery teams—ensuring seamless alignment and product success. Leading a small, dynamic team, you'll shape strategic product delivery decisions and collaborate closely with key stakeholders to guarantee that Bupa's health insurance products meet the evolving needs of our customers while supporting business growth.
As part of a cross-functional retention program team, you’ll support the vision and strategy to deeply understand our customers' needs and business goals. Your role will be crucial in translating these insights into actionable plans and guiding the product development process to ensure that we not only build the right solutions but implement them effectively.
This is a permanent full-time position, based in Melbourne office. (Bupa offers hybrid working arrangements and you can work from the office or from home)
**How You’ll make an impact**
In this Product Manager role, you’ll be at the forefront of driving meaningful improvements within our Product Operations team. Your leadership and collaboration with key stakeholders will ensure that our product strategies align with both business priorities and customer needs. By managing a cross-functional team, you’ll contribute to the success of product delivery, ensuring Bupa is consistently innovating to provide exceptional customer outcomes and operational excellence.
**You will add value by**:
- Engage with Product Delivery leaders, Product Managers, and Initiative Owners to understand their priorities and provide thought leadership for continuous improvement in Product Operations.
- Lead and manage a cross-functional team, including two direct reports (Scrum Master and Business Analyst), to ensure the effective implementation of agile squad practices.
- Align your team’s work with the broader retention program vision and strategy, helping shape strategic goals to achieve customer-focused results.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand drivers, secure necessary approvals, and ensure business considerations are factored into product development.
- Break down business requirements into epics, features, and user stories, working alongside Product Management and Business Analysts to ensure detailed specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Manage and prioritise the team backlog, defining sprint goals and ensuring team focus on the most relevant features and roadmap initiatives for timely delivery.
**About You**
This role is perfect for a highly motivated and adaptable individual with a passion for product management in the Health Insurance industry. You have a proven ability to collaborate, lead, and deliver results across multiple streams. Your experience with Agile practices, combined with a customer-centric mindset, will help you excel in driving product delivery and innovation.
To be considered for this role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in the Health Insurance industry, including fulfillment of regulatory requirements.
- Experience working across multiple streams in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery environments, particularly as a Product Owner/Manager or Senior Business Analyst with similar responsibilities.
- Strong ability to develop both functional and non-functional requirements that can be translated into epics and features.
**What’s in it for you**
As well as a competitive salary, a range of Bupa benefits and flexible working/work from home arrangements, you’ll be encouraged to innovate. You will be collaborating with various teams to deliver exceptional experiences. You will have the opportunity to further learn and develop with excellent internal development courses available and a supportive, career development environment. We trust, respect and consider everyone, knowing your difference will make the difference.
