The role of Policy Advisor in the Heavy Vehicle Policy unit provides a real opportunity to contribute to a significant and challenging program of work with national impact. In this role, you will be part of a small team delivering national heavy vehicle reform projects for the benefit of Queensland industry and communities. You will be required to contribute to the development of policy and legislation to shape heavy vehicle reform. You will be required to think creatively and critically to maximise positive outcomes for all stakeholders.
**Accountabilities include**:
- Conducting policy research and analysis, and proactively contributing to the identification, development, implementation, evaluation and continued improvement and modernisation of heavy vehicle national and state policy and legislative frameworks
- Preparing a range of official government documentation.
- Developing and maintaining effective networks, and consulting with internal and external customers, interest groups, industry representatives, other government agencies (federal, state and local) and the general public.
- Providing evidence-based, logical and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinating activities or projects to ensure the effective delivery of policy outcomes.
- Actively participate as a member of the wider Heavy Vehicles Section.
- Taking personal responsibility to deliver on agreed outcomes.
- Contributing to a safe and healthy workplace by complying with Workplace Health and Safety legislation, codes of practice, standards and departmental policy and procedures.
