**The Team**

The Project Officer position sits within the Queensland State Office and works closely with AEC teams across Queensland and Northern Territory.

The Queensland State Office is responsible for planning and implementation of a range of projects that support state-wide election delivery. The team also provides governance and corporate functions for Queensland and the Northern Territory.

At election time, our staffing expands rapidly to deliver this significant logístical event. Our people need the ability to work within high risk and large-scale projects with increased pressure, media, public scrutiny, short timeframes, and multiple logístical activities that are dependent on each other.

**The Opportunity**

The Financial Management Officer supports the State office in ensuring effective financial management and reporting across divisional sites during an electoral event.

The role will undertake work under general direction, utilising functional expertise within the area of financial management and reporting.

To excel you’ll have:

- Ability to remain positive and respond to pressure in a calm manner, while committing energy and drive to see that goals are achieved.
- Confidence and ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and negotiate with team members, business areas and stakeholders.
- Use financial reporting systems provide reporting and monitor budgets and track expenditure across projects. Work in line with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
- Analyse financial and budget information to develop spending projections to identify emerging risks and guide decision-making.
- Perform tasks / processes to contribute to an election project / deliverable, including providing sound and timely information, advice, and analysis and reporting.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities that arise during the election period, as directed.
