**The Team**
The AEC has 3 sites in South Australia, consisting of a State Office which is co-located with a multi-divisional site in the CBD (Adelaide Metro Office), and single division sites in Murray Bridge and Port Augusta. The Adelaide Metro Office site structure comprises of a State Manager, a Director of Operations, two Assistant Directors of Operations and one Assistant Director, State Office. The State Office team is small, reporting into the Assistant Director, State Office, led by two Senior Project Officers.
The Project Officer contributes to the administration and delivery of matters relating to corporate, governance and election readiness functions, including participating in section planning for short term tasks and work area planning for longer term initiatives.
The team works together to achieve high quality outcomes in tight timeframes. They are a cohesive and high performing team that has a significant focus on effective communication with other business areas across the AEC to achieve key objectives. This includes National Office, other state and territory offices and the divisional network.
**The Opportunity**
The Project Officer assist in the day-to-day management of matters relating to the corporate governance and election readiness functions of the SA state office.
You will be responsible for the financial monitoring of the state and undertake other project activities, including resources, budgets, data analysis and reporting and ensure that project tasks are delivered which meet the needs of the end user, often within strict timeframes.
The role is responsible for undertaking work that is moderately complex in nature, under limited direction, utilising expertise, and knowledge to support the delivery of corporate, compliance and governance functions, election events and project outcomes.
To excel you’ll have:
- A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to provide administrative support, accurately record project progression and complete tasks within strict timeframes.
- An ability to conduct research and analysis as required and reach evidence-based conclusions to assist in the management, preparation and coordination of procedures and delivery of projects.
- Experience in procurement, contract management and financial monitoring activities and able to demonstrate your ability to maintain financial records and prepare financial information for inclusion in corporate reports, including undertaking reconciliation of invoices and payments.
- An ability to remain positive and respond to increased levels of pressure in a calm manner, while achieving goals within tight timeframes and responding to competing and changing priorities.
- A demonstrated ability to maintain key internal and external relationships, including liaising with stakeholders on project or operational issues, and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations.
Desirable
- Experience in delivery of key governance mechanisms including corporate plans, business continuity plans and risk management.
- Familiarity with legislative and regulatory frameworks and requirements, including the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act and Commonwealth Electoral Act.
