Working within the Donor Services Team, the Gift Acceptance Officer is responsible for coordinating the gift acceptance processes at UNSW and plays a key role in achieving the Division's fundraising goals, stewardship objectives and professional standards. The position is the key liaison point between Faculties and Divisions on the administration and management of philanthropic income for scholarships, prizes, chairs, fellowships, capital projects and research.

This position reports to the Donation & Compliance Manager and has no direct reports.

**Who you are**
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of highly developed administrative, record keeping, financial and computer skills and knowledge of Raiser's Edge Database or an equivalent relational database.
- Demonstrated understanding of fund raising and the key issues that need to be considered in development activities an interest in and understanding of philanthropy.
- Proficient in stakeholder management with ability to clearly communicate timelines and expectations in relation to gift agreements and donor expectations.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise and control workload with a positive sense of initiative.
- Experience in delivering high quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks effectively, meet deadlines, operate within budget parameters and consistently produce quality output in a dynamic environment with competing priorities and short deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience exercising initiative, tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
- An understanding and proven experience in accounting or finance.
- Proven project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
- A genuine interest in philanthropy and its impact on society.
