**About the team**:
The Australian Industry Participation (AIP) Authority team has responsibility for administering the Australian Jobs Act 2013. The Jobs Act ensures that major projects with capital expenditure of $500 million or more are transparent in their procurement practices and engage openly with Australian businesses. It is about ensuring full, fair and reasonable access to opportunities as well as building business capability.

The team engages daily with major project proponents, provides advice on compliance with the Jobs Act. They also support the AIP Authority to promote Australian industry participation and make decisions on AIP plans and compliance reports.

**The opportunity**:
We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and proactive person to join our team. This newly created Assistant Manager role will lead stakeholder and communications for the AIP Authority, as well as assessing AIP plans and compliance reports.

You will work with major project proponents to assist them in complying with the Jobs Act. You will grow and learn by working closely with a great team of case officers to increase visibility of the AIP Authority and ensure transparent procurement practices, creating more opportunities for Australian suppliers.

**What you will do**:
As the Assistant Manager, your duties will include:

- Develop and implement a communications and stakeholder strategy.
- Assess AIP plans and compliance reports against a regulatory framework.
- Engage (verbally and in writing) and provide advice to major project proponents.
- Lead work on more complex issues, undertake analyses and prepare advice.
- Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring for junior staff.
- Generate new ideas to improve standard operating procedures, implement change and business improvements.
- Represent and promote AIP at cross-agency meetings and other forums.
- Prepare correspondence and briefing material to a high standards.
