**About QIMR Berghofer**:
QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Mental Health and Neuroscience, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.

**About the Health Economics group**:
The Health Economics group is dedicated to evaluation projects of new interventions and services to improve outcomes for cancer patients. Our work covers different projects ranging from genomic sequencing for people with advanced cancers to the primary prevention of skin cancer. We also assess new models care to improve cancer survivorship within nursing and allied health fields and we research the financial hardship of patients with cancer, highlighting health inequalities. All our work is applied, end-user focused and we employ the latest modelling methods. We are a small group of health economics researchers and modellers working closely with our population health colleagues and external stakeholders.

**Role Purpose / Responsibilities**:
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral researcher to join the Health Economics group lead by Associate Professor Louisa Gordon. The position is to work on economic research and evaluations of health services for people with cancer.

You are expected to have demonstrated high-level analytical skills and you must have training and experience in cost analyses and/or cost-utility analyses.

The following duties will apply:

- Undertake data analyses of a large data linkage study called QSKIN focusing on melanoma and skin cancer research
- Conduct health economic evaluations, systematic literature reviews and decision-analytic modelling as required
- Contribute to stakeholder meetings and coordinate data collections
- Prepare reports and manuscripts for peer-review publications as required
- Prepare and present seminars and conference sessions as required

**About you**:

- PhD in health economics or related field
- Experience in healthcare cost
- and/or cost-effectiveness analysis
- Interest in working in applied health economics and engaging with stakeholders
- Ability to meet deadlines and work at a high standard

**Remuneration**:Salary range is $88,849 to $95,329 per annum plus superannuation and salary packaging. This is a full-time appointment for 2 years.
