The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Systems Manager to lead our dedicated team within the FSS Payroll function. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all RMH FSS services.
**About the Role**:
As the Payroll Systems Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our payroll systems, leading a team of skilled professionals, and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation. You will be a key contact point for payroll queries, ensuring clear communication with employees, managers, and stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead and motivate the Payroll Systems Team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
- Oversee daily payroll system operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing through efficient interfaces with external systems (SAP, RosterOn, SuccessFactors, Oracle).
- Maintain a deep understanding of payroll legislation (HealthCare EBA’s, Fair Work Act, Superannuation Guarantee, ATO Guidelines) and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Monitor system performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
- Generate and analyze complex payroll reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies promptly using excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with People & Cultuer and Finance to maintain accurate payroll data.
- Effectively communicate payroll policies and procedures to employees, managers, and stakeholders.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and service providers for payroll systems.
- Stay informed about upcoming changes in payroll legislation and communicate updates to the team and stakeholders.
**About You**:
- Proven experience in leading and motivating a team in a payroll environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems and processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant payroll legislation and regulations.
- Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships.
- Proficiency in payroll software systems (including SAP ECC Payroll, RosterOn) is desirable.
- Experience working within the healthcare sector is a plus.
