About the role:
The Communications Manager will be an expert and skilful writer with great attention to detail, who's experienced in creating multi-channel communications and content. They will partner with key internal leaders and external stakeholders to design, develop and implement communication plans in accordance with the Rail Industry Worker Communication Strategy and objectives, as well as broader MTA Communication Strategies and objectives.
This is a hands-on role that will involve developing both targeted and general electronic mail and newsletters, social media posts, updating website content, knowledge base articles, key messages, videos, internal or external presentations and training materials.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with key internal leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to lead and continually develop MTA’s Communication Strategy
- Ensure alignment of all digital media channels managed directly by this role or MTA’s business delivery team.
- Develop and deliver Communication Plans and collateral to support the MTA team in delivering new products, services or change programs.
- Identify and present opportunities for consistency in messaging and customer experience across all channels.
- Facilitate and/or manage updates to the RIW website.
- Manage MTA’s communications and marketing budget in accordance with agreed road map and deliverables.
- Drive audience growth, visitation, and engagement across the RIW website and social media channels through content development, channel management, and ongoing optimisation.
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in communications, PR, corporate affairs, marketing or a related field and/or experience in previous roles of a similar nature.
- Hands on experience in a communication related function within a marketing or customer communications team in a regulated industry.
- Experience across a range of communications disciplines including internal communications, content marketing and social media.
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills combined with expert language skills and the ability to distil complex concepts into engaging, accessible narratives.
- Wordpress or similar website management software skills, with an understanding of HTML/CSS.
- Electronic Direct Marketing software skills, such as Salesforce, Freshworks or Mailchimp.
- In-depth understanding of creative processes and demonstrated experience working with other creative disciplines
