**About the Divisions**:
The Clean Energy Regulator has two divisions, and we are seeking an Executive Officer to work closely with the Executive General Manager of each division.

The **Scheme Operations Division** is structured around the operations of our schemes, undertaking key administrative roles and developing the tools to support our schemes. The division is the front door to the agency and has a focus on our clients’ needs.

The **Scheme Support Division **supports the agency and our Scheme Operations Division as part of our progression as a modern, efficient, and effective regulator.

Our key functions include assessing potential participants in our schemes, upholding the integrity of Australia’s national emissions units registry and REC registry systems, delivering the agency’s compliance, monitoring and audit functions, leading policy design and implementation, resolving complex issues, and sharing scheme market and data analysis.

Across both division our operating philosophy is based on building trust by making realistic promises and being accountable for consistently delivering on them.

**About the Role**:
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work directly with our Executive General Managers (SES Band 2), broaden your capabilities and gain a holistic view of the work of our agency. You will be a part of the Executive Officer cohort of the agency, work closely with the Executive Officer to the Chair and develop a strategic understanding of the work we do.

**Role Responsibilities and Duties**:
At the **APS 6 Level** an Executive Officer would be expected to:

- Provide timely and accurate administrative assistance to the Executive General Manager and their office, working effectively as part of a team and provide supportive leadership to the Division’s Executive Assistants.
- Clearly communicate the Executive General Manager’s expectation on scope and timeframes for deliverables and track progress for various work outputs.
- Coordinate Divisional responses to parliamentary questions, Senate Estimates, question time briefs and other Ministerial requests.
- Coordinate the Division’s provision of quality and timely inputs on corporate activities including reporting, HR, finance and planning, by proactively engaging with branch and section managers.
- Manage the procurement for the Office of the Executive General Manager in accordance with the procurement legislative and policy requirements.
- Support the Executive General Manager’s participation in a range of committees, boards and other meetings by coordinating and undertaking quality assurance over the Division’s input and clearance of papers.
- Nurture productive working relationships with key stakeholders including staff of the Chief Executive Officer, other members of the senior leadership team, Executive Officers and Executive Assistants, General Managers and Managers within the agency.
- Coordinate information and responses to the division’s leadership team and divisional staff, making connections and appropriately escalating risks and sharing information.
- Develop a monthly business as usual report to support the division in identifying, monitoring and discussing existing and emerging key risks. This report can be compiled using existing reports from (finance, HR, Audit and Compliance Committee, System Owners Reference Group and the Risk Flux reports).

As an **Executive Level 1** you will be expected to, in addition to the above duties:

- Develop an understanding of the strategic priorities of the agency and ensure divisional outputs align with agency priorities.
- Sensitively provide insights and advice on strategic matters to the Executive General Manager and senior executives as appropriate.

**Qualifications/experience**:
You will bring your **project management, organisation, and prioritisation skills.** These, along with your capacity for seeing the bigger picture, identifying ways we can improve our business and dealing with uncertainty will enable you to make linkages and support the division’s executive. With your **strong written and verbal communication skills **you will add value to and provide quality assurance of our outputs.
