**ABOUT THE ROLE**

***

Working in the Customer Experience and Business Performance Directorate, reporting to the Director, the Safety and Wellness Coordinator is responsible for the management of Council’s Safety Management System, including all programs and initiatives relating to the creation and maintenance of a safe workplace for staff/stakeholder wellness. The position leads the Safety and Wellness team, with a view to delivering service and support to staff at all levels, whilst ensuring suitable systems, processes and resources are in place to facilitate a safe and healthy place of work.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the below skills, experience and capabilities (See the Job Description for full details):

- Tertiary qualifications in Safety/Wellness related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in managing a high quality safety and wellness system in a complex workplace environment.
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with regulators on difficult issues, in particular in a safety and wellness context.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of professional/technical staff.
- Demonstrate experience in business planning, financial management, budgeting, cost control and management of projects and programs within budget, time and quality standards.
- Demonstrated experience in communicating and presenting material and information to a broad range of stakeholders, including staff, unions, community groups, elected representatives and senior management.
- Current Class C NSW Driver's Licence
