- SC4 Demonstrated capacity working with young people and communities providing advice and support on matters relating to careers and educational pathways together with current knowledge of agencies, networks and community services related to careers and pathways programs.
- SC5 Demonstrated ability to priorities work, excellent organisational skills and attention to details. Self motivation and initiative are essential.
- SC6 Experience in VASS administration would be an advantage.

**Role**:
The College Pathways Leader will undertake the following duties:

- Significant contribution to a Strategic Planning Team, with responsibility for developing and supporting the vision, initiatives and implementation of programs within this portfolio. Specifically, this team will be responsible and accountable for leading appropriate sections of the College’s Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan.
- Development of a Pathways 3-Year Plan and yearly action plan, to support delivery of the college Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan.
- Contribute to the overall management of the College through involvement in college-wide decision-making.
- To attend and actively participate in Information Nights and career and course-counselling sessions for parents and students.
- Actively advertise and organise career evenings, tertiary open days and information regarding tertiary courses.
- Design and deliver career development programs based on My Career initiatives
- Liaise closely with Year Level Coordinators and relevant staff in relation to:

- My Career portfolios and ePortfolio.
- Ensure students:

- Have opportunities to experience work in an area which interests them and in linking the college with local industry and tertiary institutions to broaden opportunities for students.
- Have opportunities to examine and explore the world of work through a variety of structured activities and career tools (e.g. work experience, guest speakers, visits to worksites, careers expos, Open Days, employer, industry and tertiary information service events)
- Identify their career management skills through building a career development portfolio towards successful career management
- Assess and record their career development through planned curriculum frameworks.
- Complete a Career Action Plan (CAP) that is reviewed bi-annually. The CAP is designed to ensure students are aware of their interests, values and aptitude, and have the opportunity to identify goals and careers & pathways aspirations.
- Provide support to the My Career program using qualified staff in career development
- Oversee the transition from school process for students who are looking at alternative education/training opportunities but under the required school-age.
- Oversee the Early Leavers Project and utilise school resources, both administrative and pathways to attempt re-engagement strategies with students who have transitioned into unidentified pathways.
- Be a member of associations/network groups relevant to Careers, Pathways and post-secondary education.
- Implement and evaluate the Work Experience Program for Year 10 and individual students.
- Other duties at the discretion of the College and Campus Principals.

**_ YEAR LEVEL SPECIFIC Tasks for Pathways Team:_**

**Years 7 - 10 Classroom Based**:

- Design and deliver career development programs based on The Australian Blueprint for Career Development, commencing at Year 7
- Provide culturally aware career development programs and services for indigenous and CALD students
- Acknowledge and provide for the career development needs of students with a disability, engage in a case management approach of career services for these students
- Oversee and assist relevant staff in the Year 9 Careers Insight (Morrisby) testing and counselling

**Year 10 - 12 Career Development Activities**:

- Deliver information on all post compulsory options and VTAC selection system to school community
- Inform school community of all tertiary education requirements and pre requisites, including UMAT, Open Days in TAFEs and University, Scholarship programs, Fee structures, accommodation etc.
