**Role**:
We are seeking a professionally qualified Careers and Pathways Practitioner and Leader to join and lead our Careers and Pathways team. The Careers and Pathways Practitioner and Leader will be responsible for maintaining and evolving our career services, with a focus on counselling Year 9-12, and pathway management for the small number of students requiring individual pathways.

The leader will support a team that is developing and expanding including:

- providing expertise and advice to our teaching, sub-school and Connect team for the development of Career education modules in the curriculum.
- directing the work of the Careers Administrative support team member
- mentoring the development of an additional Careers Counsellor who is currently in training.

You will have a strong knowledge of tertiary, at a state, national and international level. You will work in close contact with Sub-School and Wellbeing teams, and our extended community to ensure our students' exit with a sound knowledge of tertiary pathways, and the world of work, and have valuable networks. In addition, you will hold the responsibility for the oversight of VET, Work Experience and Distance Education and be required to balance competing demands. Previous experience in each will be advantageous.

You will contribute to a positive, values-led, inclusive, collaborative environment that fosters student and staff growth and development.

**Time Fraction**

This position is a 1.0 FTE, so the successful applicant will be expected to attend for 5 days per week. The ordinary hours of attendance for this education support class employee will be a minimum of 7.6 hours daily, with the days and start/finish time to be negotiated based on the needs of the school.

**Leave Purchase**

Key Careers and Pathways activities fall within school holiday breaks, thus this position attracts a leave-purchase allowance.

Number of days of Leave Purchase = Approximately 20 days (negotiable)

Approximate additional payment (included as salary) = Approx. $6,100

**Qualifications**

At Range 5 you will have responsibility and accountability to provide professional advice to support the delivery of services and careers curriculum for Year 9-12 students. Your role will impact beyond the work area or professional field, working with other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as working with alumni on career events and external partners for our WE Program. You will work with and be guided by the needs of our students, Sub-School and Wellbeing teams in your role. Our school community is very proactive in this area and the Careers and Pathways Practitioner and Leader is at the forefront of this connection.

Management of a small number of staff to achieve the expected outcomes is a key responsibility of this role. You will be responsible for the mentoring and management of administration staff aligned to the role, and supporting teaching staff in the delivery of Careers and Pathways curriculum and action plans. Administration assistance will be provided to assist at peak times such as work experience and career events.

In this role, you will also provide advice and information to the Senior Leadership team with current timely advice and reports, generally confined to matters relating to careers and pathways outcomes and curriculum programs. As an education support class position you will support the educational services being provided to students, which includes the development of lesson plans, but not delivery in accordance with ES dimensions.

Please note, this role does require holiday periods of coverage for work experience and VTAC during the year and across summer break.

**Attendance requirement for this position**

Will usually be a member of the leadership team who is accountable for the development and delivery of key services that are integral to the effective operation
