**About the role**

The Communication and Engagement division is responsible for all aspects of AV's communication activity which encompasses employee and stakeholder engagement, government relations, media relations as well as social media management, community engagement and education and public awareness programs.

We are currently seeking a Media Manager to join our External Affairs team in this rewarding position. Reporting to the Senior Manager Media and managing a talented team, this position will be key in the provision of expert direction and advice in media and public relations with an emphasis on building advocacy and reputational value for AV.

A key leadership role within the team, this position will focus on a range of, with responsibilities including:

- Collaboration across the team and wider division to achieve accurate, timely and strategic messaging to the media and key stakeholders, particularly through the development and delivery of integrated media plans and campaigns.
- All aspects of media engagement and content strategy such as responding to media enquiries, research and preparation of media releases, monitoring, analysing and measuring media coverage and emerging trends to enable a flexible and agile approach to maximise impact.
- A proactive approach to media opportunities as well as managing risk and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Leading, coaching and mentoring to achieve a positive culture and a high performing media team.

**About you**

Suited to a proactive and experienced communications professional, key to success in this role will be
- A tertiary qualification, preferably at postgraduate level in a relevant discipline or an equivalent level of experience and training.
- Demonstrated leadership in, and extensive knowledge, skills and experience of communication, media liaison, marketing and public relations.
- Highly effective communication skills with a high level of demonstrated experience in relationship building, influencing, and generating buy-in.
- An ability to remain agile and flexible in an environment with shifting priorities and periods of uncertainty.

The position is graded at AV5. The AV grade salary range for AV5 is $122,236.00 - $144,502.00 (pro-rata) plus 10.5% superannuation.
