About the Role

Are you a dynamic financial professional eager to take your career to the next level as a Financial Controller? Or are you an experienced financial manager interested in joining a high growth ASX listed company in a fast-paced industry? Racing and Sports is thrilled to offer an exciting permanent role where you'll be a vital part of our high performing Finance team

In this pivotal position, you'll work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, managing multiple subsidiaries and oversee a wide range of financial functions to support the achievement of our financial and strategic goals.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee all financial and management accounting, statutory reporting, and compliance with ASX, ATO and other regulatory requirements.

• Deliver accurate and timely month-end, quarterly, half-year and annual financial reports.

• Prepare and manage external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure compliance and clean audit opinions.

• Ensure robust internal controls are in place and adhered to.

• Support the CFO and executive leadership team with financial strategy, planning, and risk management.

• Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis as required to support business decision-making, capital investment, and Mergers and Acquisitions & other operational

and strategic activities .

• Assist in investor relations, including financial presentations and announcements to the market.

• Working in partnership with our expert external advisers and the CFO

manage the compliance and other requirements for RAS's claims through the Federal Governments Research and Development incentive grant program.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.

• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, treasury, insurance and tax functions.

• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation in financial processes.

• Partner with the CFO to deliver the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic business goals.

• Monitor financial performance against budget and report on variances with strategic insights.

• Proactively identify initiatives and opportunities in partnership with the CFO and RAS Executive team to help RAS deliver on its strategic and financial goals.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 7 years' of broad experience in finance roles, with at least 3 years in a manager or leadership role.

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Commerce or relevant (CPA / CA advantageous)

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and up-to-date understanding of Australian Accounting Standards. Understanding of ASX Listing Rules or ASX environment will be

an advantage, but it is not essential.

• Demonstrated success in managing financial control functions, month-end and full year reporting, and audits in complex business environments.

• Experience in taxation, compliance and investor reporting and regulatory disclosures.

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Proven ability to work co-operatively and positively with other departments and senior management to achieve financial goals. Efficient in managing time and prioritising

tasks to meet deadlines in a professional and co-operative manner.
