The organisation requires a highly skilled accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will have experience in financial statement preparation, balance sheet and profit and loss statement maintenance, and cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Maintenance of fixed assets register and general ledger, including preparation of reconciliations
  • Cash flow management including daily updates and forecasting
  • Contributing to Audit and Risk Committee reporting including maintaining financial controls and positive liaison with external audit
  • Developing technical accounting papers using discretion and initiative to interpret policy and applying the Australian Accounting Standards to the Agency's transactions and balances
  • Performing research and analysis in the preparation of journals

The ideal candidate will be a strong accounting technician with consulting or working experience in federal government. They must be a natural problem solver with ability to research and apply solutions to accounting treatment issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Accounting)
  • CA/CPA qualified or progressing towards
  • Knowledge of PGPA Act and Rules
  • Australian Citizen with an existing AGVSA baseline security clearance
