Overview

KBR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bids and Proposals Manager to join our team. This is a permanent full-time role that can be based in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide or Brisbane. The successful candidate must be eligible to hold an AGSVA security clearance.

The Opportunity

You will own the end-to-end proposal development process, ensuring submissions are compliant, high-quality and compelling. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, People & Culture, and Operations to deliver winning proposals that drive new business and strengthen our market position. This role offers the chance to apply your project management, communication and leadership skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your contribution impacts business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the full proposal/bid lifecycle, from planning and scheduling through to submission.
  • Analyse tender requirements and ensure proposals meet specifications, compliance needs and deadlines.
  • Coordinate contributions from cross-functional teams, ensuring clarity, consistency and alignment with brand voice.
  • Implement and maintain governance, templates and content libraries to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Facilitate kick-off meetings, storyboarding and review cycles to engage and guide proposal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, commercial and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives in bid management techniques.
  • Conduct post-submission reviews and embed lessons learned into future proposals.
About You

We're looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment and can influence senior stakeholders. To succeed, you'll bring:

  • Proven experience managing complex proposals, ideally in business-to-business or government contracting environments (ASDEFCON experience highly regarded).
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling messages.
  • Experience leading cross-functional proposal teams.
  • An existing or ability to obtain an Australian Government security clearance.
