Youth Residential Care Worker - Shepparton Region. Berry Street is seeking individuals who are resilient, have a strong sense of self, and can understand trauma and the behaviours of vulnerable young people in the Out of Home Care sector. You will provide therapeutic support and care and have the potential to make a difference to a young person\'s life.
Your OpportunityIn Berry Street\'s Residential Care Program, we provide accommodation, high-quality physical and emotional care, and unwavering support to children and young people aged 10 to 17 who come to us under Child Protection orders when other Out of Home Care options are not feasible. The roster operates 24/7, with day shifts (7am–11pm) and overnight shifts (11pm–7am).
On The Job- Work collaboratively within a dedicated team to deliver high-quality therapeutic care.
- Implement current best practice therapeutic interventions and program guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care and child safety.
- Serve as a positive role model, supporting young people in their educational, social, and recreational pursuits while fostering independence.
- Create a safe and nurturing home environment, including managing household duties and providing nutritious meals.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, prioritising the best interests of the young person.
- Strong communication skills, active listening, and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to multitask.
- Creative thinking and a non-judgmental approach to life.
- Driver\'s license (minimum green P\'s) is essential for transporting young people.

- 2-day face-to-face Orientation Training is mandatory for all successful candidates: Monday 22 & Tuesday 23 September
