The Opportunity: The Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy is a newly created, pivotal role. Developed in line with our strategic plan, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Leadership Team during a period of significant transformation. You will report directly to a fast-paced CEO and help shape a high-performing, engaging workplace culture. This role blends commercial acumen with a passion for a cause, influencing our ability to expand impact and reach more animals in need. This position is critical to ensuring the long-term sustainability and continued impact of the organisation.

We are seeking an energetic and purpose-driven strategic leader with a proven track record of driving sustainable revenue growth through compelling campaigns and strong engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Fundraising Strategy & Growth: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to exceed ambitious targets and ensure long-term revenue growth.
  • Team Leadership & Culture: Lead, manage, and mentor a passionate fundraising team to foster a high-performance, positive, and collaborative culture aligned with our vision and values.
  • Donor & Stakeholder Management: Oversee acquisition and management of strategic partnerships; build long-term relationships with donors and supporters; maintain a disciplined pipeline for all opportunities.
  • Campaigns: Drive compelling fundraising campaigns with innovative initiatives to grow our portfolio and performance.
  • Grants: Manage and oversee grant applications and proposals.
  • Philanthropy: Research, profile, and cultivate relationships with high-value prospective donors and funding opportunities.
  • Reporting & Operations: Implement a concise reporting suite to track results, monitor KPIs, and ensure data integrity.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven success in leading fundraising and philanthropy within the not-for-profit sector, with a track record of delivering creative and effective initiatives that meet or exceed KPIs.
  • A tertiary qualification in business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM software.
  • A valid driver's licence and the commitment to attend all sites regularly.

  • Experience in the animal welfare industry.
  • Established personal and professional networks that can be leveraged to benefit the organisation.
