As the Head of Education Systems and Technology at CEnet, you'll be the strategic leader and visionary guiding a function of technology services aimed at enhancing Catholic education. This executive role reports directly to the CEO and is central to CEnet's mission of supporting its member dioceses and schools. You will lead the Education Insights, Applications, and Artificial Intelligence teams, ensuring technology initiatives are purpose-driven and directly support learning, teaching, and administrative outcomes. The OpportunityThis is a senior leadership position with the scope to significantly shape the future of educational technology within the Catholic sector. You will be at the forefront of innovation, leading the charge on leveraging data, AI, and cutting-edge applications to create meaningful, high-value services for schools and dioceses. This role is about being a passionate advocate for Catholic education and ensuring that technology serves as a powerful tool to advance its mission. You will have the autonomy to set the strategic vision for your department, manage substantial budgets, and collaborate with key stakeholders at the executive level. The role offers the chance to lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Providing executive leadership and strategic direction for the Education Systems and Technology department.
- Championing the use of data, applications, and AI to support the mission of Catholic education.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the department's management team to foster a high-performance culture.
- Overseeing the full lifecycle of educational technology services, from development to implementation and continuous improvement.
- Acting as a primary relationship manager for technology matters with senior stakeholders and key vendors.
- Ensuring robust governance, security, and compliance for all departmental systems and services.
This role requires a collaborative leader who can represent the department's capabilities within the CEnet executive team and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the organisation. You will also be a champion of excellence, ensuring all technology initiatives deliver innovative, purpose-driven outcomes for our community.
About YouYou are an experienced and dynamic leader with a strong background in technology management within a complex, service-oriented environment. Your expertise isn't just technical; you have a deep and authentic understanding of the K-12 education sector, with a strong preference for experience in Catholic or faith-based education. You're a strategic thinker with a proven ability to translate vision into action, aligning technology initiatives with clear organisational objectives. You're comfortable managing multiple teams and are an exceptional communicator, capable of building trust and influencing stakeholders at all levels, from educators to executives.
You possess a degree in Education, Information Technology, or a related field (with a master's degree highly regarded), or have substantial equivalent experience. You're proficient in budget management, project governance, and vendor relationships. Your leadership style is collaborative and empowering; you're committed to fostering an environment where your team can thrive, grow, and deliver exceptional results.
