Founded in 1987, Tasmanian Walking Company (TWC) has been a pioneer in eco-tourism, offering guided walks in some of Australia's most iconic landscapes. Over the years, TWC has expanded its offerings. In 2015, we expanded to the mainland and formed a partnership with the Australian Walking Company (AWC). In 2022, we introduced Guided by Nature, bringing our expertise to global destinations. At TWG, we are united by our passion for environmental sustainability, cultural integrity, and delivering extraordinary walking experiences.

About the role:

This is a 9-month, full-time role that can be based in either Brisbane or Launceston.

We're looking for a Digital Marketing Coordinator to help us share the stories of our walks, drive digital campaigns, and inspire more people to connect with wild landscapes through our brand.

What you'll be doing:

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will support and help deliver The Walking Group's digital marketing strategy. You'll be responsible for writing content, managing paid social media ads, keeping our digital platforms updated, and supporting commercial projects that grow awareness and drive bookings.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Marketing Manager in the implementation of the company marketing strategy, including reporting
  • Develop search engine optimised content and make technical updates of the TWG website
  • Update itineraries and other marketing collateral as required
  • Coordinate paid social media advertising, including the set-up of campaigns, monitoring, and ongoing management to optimise advertisement performance
  • Perform ongoing reviews of social media advertisement trends and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant advertising rules and regulations
  • Produce creative and on-brand copy writing for campaign messaging, email marketing, blog posts, itinerary development, and other marketing collateral
  • Respond to traveller reviews on digital platforms, as well as engage in social listening on social media sites

What you will bring:

  • Experience in a marketing role (bonus if it's in tourism)
  • Working knowledge of social media advertisement trends
  • Strong writing skills and ability to tell a compelling story
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience using a content management system (CMS) or willingness to learn
  • You have a genuine interest in eco-tourism and nature
  • You hold relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or business

What's in it for you?

  • Established employee wellbeing program
  • Family & friends discounts across our walking products
  • Opportunities for training, social and professional development
  • Access to our pro-deals program for discounted adventure gear

You'll be part of a purpose-driven organisation that believes in delivering once-in-a-lifetime experiences while treading lightly on the planet. We've been inducted into the Australian Tourism Hall of Fame and continue to expand our adventures globally under our "Guided by Nature" banner. As part of our team, your ideas are valued, your creativity will be encouraged, and your work will help people discover unforgettable journeys.

How to Apply:

Please provide your current resume and a cover letter telling us why you're excited about this opportunity.

Tasmanian Walking Company is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workforce and we strongly encourage applications from people of all genders, cultures and walks of life. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

Applications close at 5pm on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.
