Civil Designer

We are seeking to appoint a Civil Designer in a full-time permanent position for our Community Development team in Cairns.

Our approach to community development consulting covers master planned communities, mixed-use developments, parks, recreation facilities, and streetscapes. We activate urban downtowns, suburban centers, small towns, and rural areas—and the multimodal corridors that connect us to the places we work, live, and thrive.

Reporting to the Design Lead, the Civil Designer will contribute to delivering innovative solutions in all facets of land, urban and subdivision projects in this region. This role will suit an experienced 12D Designer who has worked on civil projects.

• Preparing conceptual and detailed designs using 12D (land subdivisions, road infrastructure, drainage, sewer & water systems as well as associated infrastructure)
• Interpreting civil design requirements from State Government, Local Government Authorities and private sector clients
• Interfacing with associated disciplines such as planning, survey, traffic, electrical and landscaping
• Interacting with clients regarding project needs ensuring that expert and quality service is delivered
• Collaborating with diverse teams nationally

• Demonstrated civil design/drafting experience within a consulting environment
• Relevant qualifications
• Demonstrated experience ideally using 12D
• Familiarity with local authority and state government approval and regulatory requirements
• A commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development
