About the company
Our client is an industrial manufacturer seeking a Cost Accountant who can start immediately with a potential for extension and permanent.

About the role
The Cost Accountant role would start off as a 3-month contract with potential for extension or permanent, based full-time at their head office in Bayswater. The role reports into The CFO and is responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate product costs
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual product budgets
  • Providing pricing and costing analysis to support business opportunities and decisions
  • Ensuring the master database is kept up to date and accurate
  • Providing accurate reports and reconciliations for a number of different areas of the business
  • Calculating customer rebates and accruals and price amendments
  • Maintaining process and procedure documentation relating to the role

About you

  • Tertiary Qualification in Accounting or similar
  • Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent
  • Experience in costing products in a manufacturing environment
  • Good attention to detail
  • High critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good computer literacy skills and comfort with various types of technology
  • Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people
