The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager / Estimator to join our expanding team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives on building client relationships, developing strategic sales opportunities, and delivering detailed and competitive estimates across a wide range of project types.

You'll work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, leading tenders and quotations from enquiry through to project handover—while also contributing to the long-term growth of AWS through business development initiatives.

This is a dynamic, hands-on position with strong career growth potential for a commercially savvy and client-focused professional.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and drive sales strategies across civil, commercial, and remedial construction services

Attend site inspections, review plans, and prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions

Collaborate with project teams to document construction methodologies and pricing

Oversee preparation of proposals for government, insurance, and private sector clients

Lead and mentor the estimating team to improve conversion rates and project acquisition

Build and maintain strong client relationships to support ongoing business development

Manage the end-to-end tender process, including variations and post-submission clarifications

Provide regular updates and sales performance reports to executive leadership

About You

You are a confident communicator with a strong background in estimating and business development within the civil or commercial construction sectors. You're proactive, results-driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

What You'll Bring

7+ years of experience in estimating, sales, or business development in construction or civil industries

Proven experience securing and pricing government tender or tier 2 projects

Strong understanding of construction methodologies, tendering processes, and project delivery cycles

Ability to lead and mentor teams in a fast-paced, multi-project environment

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Business, or a related field (preferred)
