As a fast-growing national contractor, our client is expanding its team and seeking a passionate and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join their Sydney CBD office. With a diverse portfolio of projects across Defence, Marine, Mining, Energy, and Commercial sectors, the company offers a supportive and inclusive work environment.

In this role, you will provide generalist HR advice and assistance to managers across a variety of HR activities within a multifaceted business. You will be instrumental in supporting the HR team with key initiatives such as performance reviews, remuneration, and employee engagement surveys, while also handling more complex HR issues like performance management, discipline, and terminations. You will have one direct report being an HR Advisor.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert HR advice on policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Supporting the delivery of the annual HR calendar of events, including performance and remuneration reviews
  • Coordinating with payroll and other corporate services to manage staff movements
  • Advising managers on employee-related matters including performance, discipline, and terminations
  • Interpreting the Enterprise Agreement and relevant awards in line with the Fair Work Act and NES
  • Liaising with migration agents to manage employee visa/sponsorship nominations
  • Supporting the implementation of HR projects and initiatives

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an HR advisory role with knowledge of HR laws, awards, EBAs, and best practices
  • Experience with HR systems (JDE, UKG advantageous) and data management
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Motivated to drive a positive people and culture experience
  • Experience in managing visa applications is advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
